Bespoke jewellery in Horsham
Something made for you, not pulled from a catalogue
Most jewellery is designed to appeal to as many people as possible, which means it ends up looking like everything else. A bespoke piece is different, made to your brief, in the metal and stones you choose, in a design that doesn’t exist anywhere else.
At Sakakini on the Carfax we design and make bespoke jewellery for customers who want something specific. Come in, tell us what you’re after, and we’ll make it. If something isn’t achievable, or there’s a better way to get where you want to go, we’ll say so upfront.
Bespoke engagement rings
An engagement ring is probably the most personal piece of jewellery there is. Getting it made means it can be exactly right – the right stone, the right setting, the right metal, designed for the person who’ll wear it rather than chosen from a standard range.
We design and make engagement rings from scratch. Customers come in with all sorts, a stone they’ve inherited, a picture of something they liked, a vague idea and not much more. Any of those is a workable starting point. We’ll ask the right questions and design something we’re both happy with before any work starts.
If you have your own stone – a family diamond, say – we’ll assess it and design the ring around it.
Bespoke wedding rings
A wedding ring doesn’t have to come from a display case. We make them to order in yellow, white or rose gold, platinum, or a combination, in whatever width, profile and finish you want. If you need something that sits well against an existing engagement ring, bring both in and we’ll design accordingly.
One-off pieces
Bespoke isn’t only for rings. We design and make pendants, necklaces, earrings and brooches to brief. If you have a piece you’d like reimagined, a stone looking for a new setting, or just a clear idea in your head that you’ve never found in a shop, come in and talk to us.
A sketch helps. A photo helps. A feeling with no words attached also works, we’re used to working from all three.
The process
Come in to the shop and tell us what you’re looking for. We’ll ask questions, look at anything you’ve brought along for reference, talk through metals, stones, budget and timescales, and give you a clear picture of what’s possible and what it costs. Once you’re happy to go ahead, we make it. When it’s ready, you come in and collect it.
Budget
Bespoke doesn’t automatically mean expensive. Some bespoke pieces cost less than comparable things from a jewellery chain. Others cost more depending on the stone, the metal and the complexity of the work. We’ll quote you clearly before anything starts. If the initial brief is over budget, we’ll tell you what would bring it within range rather than just say no.
Common questions
How long does a bespoke piece take?
Depends on the complexity. A straightforward ring might be six to eight weeks. Something more involved takes longer. We’ll give you a realistic date at the start, not a vague estimate.
Can I use my own stones?
Yes. Diamonds, sapphires or other stones from inherited jewellery are something we work with regularly. Bring them in and we’ll tell you what’s possible.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before I come in?
No. Some people arrive with a very clear brief. Others have a feeling and not much more. The conversation is how we work out the detail, you don’t need to have done all that thinking in advance.
What if I don’t like the finished piece?
We’d rather spend more time on the brief than make something that misses. Most problems come from not asking enough questions at the start, so we ask them. If something changes along the way, talk to us before it’s finished rather than after.
