Watch repairs in Horsham

In store, most jobs done while you wait

Watch stopped? Needs a battery, a new strap, or hasn’t been serviced in a while? We handle watch battery and strap replacements in-house at Sakakini on the Carfax.

Major repairs get outsourced to a local independent watch maker in Horsham who will look over the watch and give an estimate as to the price of the repair on a no-obligation basis.

Bring it in. We’ll look at it, tell you what’s needed and what it costs, and you decide whether to go ahead

Battery replacements

Most quartz watches that have stopped just need a new battery. We fit them while you wait — usually about ten minutes. If the watch has been sitting stopped for a long time, we’ll check for any signs of battery leak before we put a new one in.

Strap and bracelet replacements

A new strap can change the look of a watch entirely. We stock leather, rubber and metal straps in a range of sizes and can fit one while you’re in the shop. If you’re after something specific, a colour, style or width we don’t have in, we can usually source it. Bring the watch so we can measure the lug width before ordering anything.

We also sort metal bracelets – replacing worn links, adjusting fit, fixing clasps that have started misbehaving.

Watch servicing

Mechanical watches, automatic or hand-wound, need servicing every few years. The movement needs cleaning, lubricating and checking for wear. A watch that’s been running unserviced for too long loses accuracy gradually, and if it’s left long enough the repair bill starts getting serious.

If your watch is running slow, running fast, or stopping and starting, it probably needs a service rather than a battery swap. Bring it in and we’ll tell you which.

Water damage

If a watch has got wet inside, condensation on the glass is usually the giveaway, bring it in quickly. The longer moisture sits against the movement, the worse it gets. We’ll look at it and tell you honestly what can be done.

Common questions

Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in Monday to Saturday. Batteries and simple repairs are often done on the spot. For servicing or more involved work we’ll book it in and give you a date.

How long do repairs take?
Batteries while you wait. Straps while you wait. Servicing and mechanical work typically one to two weeks.

Do you work on all brands?
We service most watches, including Sekonda, Festina and quality Swiss and Japanese movements. For certain marques that require manufacturer-certified servicing, we’ll tell you upfront if that applies.

How much does servicing cost?
Depends on the movement and what’s needed. Come in or call, we’ll quote once we’ve looked at it.

My watch has sentimental value – is it worth repairing?
That’s your call. We’ll give you an honest read on what it needs, what it’ll cost, and what the watch is likely worth afterwards. You go from there.
