Coins and bullion
We buy and sell gold and silver coins – sovereigns, Britannias, older pre-decimal pieces, foreign coins. If you’ve inherited a collection and aren’t sure what you’ve got, bring it in. We’ll go through it with you.
Coins are a bit different from scrap. Some are worth more as coins than as metal. Some aren’t. We’ll tell you which is which rather than just weigh the lot and offer you spot price.
Valuations
Free, no obligation. If you want to know what something is worth before deciding anything, that’s a perfectly normal reason to come in. Some people sell on the day. Some go away and think about it. Some decide to keep it. None of those is the wrong answer.
Paperwork helps – receipts, certificates, anything showing hallmark or purity – but we test the metal ourselves, so it’s not essential.

How is the price worked out?
We use the live spot price for gold or silver at the time of the transaction, adjusted for purity and weight. We’ll walk you through it.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in Monday to Saturday. If you’re bringing a collection or something bulky, a call ahead means we can make sure we’ve got the time to go through it properly.
What if I don’t want to sell?
You take your things home. No charge, no pressure.
Do you buy damaged or broken jewellery?
Yes. For scrap it doesn’t matter what state it’s in, it’s the metal content that counts.
